English Cocker Spaniel is a hunting dog. It belongs to group of flushing dogs.
Flushing dogs were bred to raise animals from bushes, bulrushes and thickets. That’s why they are vigorous, despite their small size, and indefatigable while hunting.
If properly trained they retrieve perfectly from the land and water. They own a perfect smell, which allows them to work while tracing and fetching. They are endowed with a great hunting passion.
Unfortunately, due to their beauty we see them usually on couch or exhibitions, not while hunting. However I still hope that hunters will return to this fine breed, because it’s worth it.
